Have Your Say
Lancaster City Council are asking residents to have there say on the cuts to services from the coalition government spending review which is due on 20th October.
Article below
Lancaster City Council is urging local people to suggest ways in which it can save money or do things more efficiently.
With the Government poised to reduce the amount of money spent on public services, local authorities are set to come under increasing pressure to reduce services and focus on the services that people most need and want.
That’s why the council has launched a budget consultation and suggestion scheme for people to get involved and have their say.

Lancashire County Council looks to protect
LANCASHIRE County Council’s Cabinet is to consider plans to protect over two and half million pounds worth of funding for children and family services, despite no longer receiving funding from the Government.
The move follows the Central Government announcement in June that it was stopping grant funding specifically targeted at local services. This means that the county council needs to save over £22m during 2010-11, in addition to its other savings requirements.

save NHS Direct
The Coalition Government’s Health Secretary Andrew Lansley has indicated that he intends to scrap the 24 hour adviceline NHS Direct.
Prime Minister David Cameron has said that any petition reaching 100,000 signatures would guarantee a Commons debate on the matter.

Big Brother Transphobia towards Nadia
Please read article below and show your support to Nadia and other transgender people out there who may be affected by this and other transphobia behaviour, this is a form of hate crime and we need to stamp it our now.
Taken from Twitter account http://twitter.com/GayIsGr8
Big Brother UK Transphobia *Please Read*: If you weren’t watching last nights episode of Big Brother’s Big Mouth, then you clearly missed the appalling treatment of Transsexual housemate Nadia Almada. Cruel comments were made by the show’s host Davina McCall in which it was implied that Nadia’s gender reassignment had gone wrong leaving her with two penises AND making references to Nadia’s “Boyish Good Looks”.
It is UNACCEPTABLE in this day and age for this blatant Transphobia to go unacknowledged and unreprimanded. So I urge you ALL to PLEASE take to the following website and complain.
It is our duty as LGBT supporters to stand against such discrimination! If we don’t, then who will?

No Hate Crime
I have been an active person in promoting if that is the right word, to get rid of HATE CRIME, after my self and my partner Dean where attacked for being Gay and living together as a married couple, we where so proud of our wedding / Civil Partnership that we had it put into the Local paper like a straight couple do, so why not if they can why can’t we.
When we did we had no idea that people would re-act like they did and from this we ended up moving home, we did report it to the police but nothing came from it so didn’t bother after that.
However that was a few years back and things have changed for the best so if your a victim of hate crime or know of anyone who is, please note that there are so many other people out there who are victims of hate crime and find it hard to report it, but there is help out there and so many ways of reporting it.
So What you class as hate crime.
Hate Crimes happen because of hostility, prejudice or hatred of:
- disability
- gender identity
- race, ethnicity or nationality
- religion or belief
- sexual orientation.
They include things like name calling and verbal abuse, bullying and harassment, spitting and physical attacks, damage to property, graffiti, and written notes, emails and text messages.
Click here for the stop hate crime site where you can report a crime.
There are 3rd Party reporting in some areas of UK too.
But if it’s urgent then ring 999.
Hate Crime is level 2 in the police response and that means they will try and respond within a few hours.
So don’t be a victim any more report it and help stamp out hate crime.

Pope Benedict
Well after months and if not years of who is responsible for the outrageous sexual abuse behaviour by some of the Catholic Priest and rumour that The Pope himself covered up abuse claims when he was a Cardinal.
He the pope has said he now Promises action,
But I my having been a victim myself will watch this space to see what realy happens to the priest and what the victims get, no one can understand what these people have gone through unless you have been through it yourself.
Having your childhood taken away from you by the beasts of all Paedophiles is something that you can’t get back and nothing in the world can replace this, but the Pope needs to show that this will never ever happen again.
General Election 2010
Well 6th May the people of UK go to the Polls to vote for a new Parliament and New Government hopefully, I have always been a Labour Voter since I have been able to vote but this time I will be going Liberal Democrats this is because I think Labour have had it’s day and not doing any good now and worried they will undo all the good they have done with Gordon Brown as there leader.
Happy New Year 2010
