One Voice Access Guide 2010/11
The Good Access Guide for Lancaster and Morecambe Area is designed to provide information on access for disabled residents, Visitors and anyone who may find it hard to access services in the area, you may be a parent pushing a pram, a carer pushing a wheelchair, partially sighted or blind person, hard of hearing or deaf person, a wheelchair user, or use walking sticks / crutches but all have 1 thing in common and that is you may find it hard to get into places like the Cafe, Banks, Pubs, Clubs, Eating areas, Hotels, Cinema, Theatres, or shopping in the area. Or you can get in but you struggle to use their services. So this guide is designed to give you as much information on places and what they offer, it’s not a law book or a ratings guide, it’s what it say a guide for you to use to access places, we will try and keep you updated of all changes to it if any, like if a shop or cafe closes or a new business opens, we are moving with the times so facebook is an ideal place to have a page for all the users and hopefully by doing this it will reach out at everyone including the younger people, If you would like us to add a business that you feel should be in the guide please contact us with the information and we will do the rest, or if you’re a business owner / manager and not in the guide and want to be we would like to hear from you. Pope Benedict
Well after months and if not years of who is responsible for the outrageous sexual abuse behaviour by some of the Catholic Priest and rumour that The Pope himself covered up abuse claims when he was a Cardinal.
He the pope has said he now Promises action,
But I my having been a victim myself will watch this space to see what realy happens to the priest and what the victims get, no one can understand what these people have gone through unless you have been through it yourself.
Having your childhood taken away from you by the beasts of all Paedophiles is something that you can’t get back and nothing in the world can replace this, but the Pope needs to show that this will never ever happen again.
General Election 2010
Well 6th May the people of UK go to the Polls to vote for a new Parliament and New Government hopefully, I have always been a Labour Voter since I have been able to vote but this time I will be going Liberal Democrats this is because I think Labour have had it’s day and not doing any good now and worried they will undo all the good they have done with Gordon Brown as there leader.
One Voice and Disability Forum
Hi there, Well been a busy few weeks went to see my IB officer at the DWP regarding me going back into work, she and I both decided that I would be best to start off doing Part time Voluntary work.
So went to Help Direct and if I am completely honest they weren’t that helpful didn’t feel like I would be part of there team and few days later they telephoned me and asked me for some paper work which I handed in but they couldn’t find it so that also put me off.
Then I went to One Voice Cornerstones and from the moment I walked in and meet a lady called Anne who was very welcoming and helpful I could see me there, anyway she asked me to call back the following week to see the Manager which I did.
Following week came and went to see Jo another nice lady who made me feel welcomed and invited me back to a Disability Forum Meeting the following evening, I worked in the building many years ago when it was a day centre and I was doing my Mental Health Training.
So attended the Disability Forum Meeting which was informative and I was asked on to that group which also has a Working Group on Wednesdays so I am doing that now.
On the Tuesday after I met another wonderful person called Tony who runs the One Voice Access Guide which is like a directory of places that other a wide range services for disabled people.
So I am now working on the One Voice Disability “Good Access Guide 2010/2011″ so I am busy and very much enjoying it too.
